Liz Lappin is an APEGA-registered professional geologist and leading advocate for geothermal energy. As a geologist, she has worked on the new venture team for Cenovus, and on development teams at Encana and Suncor. In the Geothermal domain, Liz is CanGEA’s Geothermal Ambassador Coordinator and has quadrupled that program’s size in the last year. As part of this outreach program, Liz has gained industry-wide recognition for her Geothermal 101 courses. Liz’s collaborative approach in the energy space has resulted in her being appointed a Fellow of the Energy Futures Lab. Liz is currently a Director and principal consultant for Castle Rock – a consultancy firm specializing in the geothermal space as it relates to oil & gas. Castle rock is itself engaged by a number of leading energy companies for geothermal and oil & gas advisory services. Liz is based in Calgary and holds a B.Sc. degree from UBC.
